Vintage review
2005 / A very healthy weather and wines of fullness
This year was marked by North-East wind which guaranteed ideal climatic conditions, with strong sunshine but no excessive heat. Only a few local storms broke in July. As for the week which preceded the harvests, it constituted a short gloomy spell quickly erased by the return of fine weather for the picking. Dry, sunny and fresh, this weather was favorably accompanied by some wind which concentrated the juice. Grapes of high maturity levels were obtained and were conferred an undeniable richness. On the nose they can be described by a great aromatic purity and a very refined minerality. The mouth, very round and concentrated but with a preserved freshness, is made of a perfect balance. It is a complete vintage whose ageing potential is obvious.
