The 2015 vintage: Quality prevails despite the hail
We finished harvesting on 11 September.
The much publicized hailstorm on 1 September affected only a few premiers and grands crus, where we ended up suffering a 20-30% loss of harvest volume.
However, as these plots were harvested very quickly, and the grapes meticulously sorted, the hail will not affect the quality of the wines.
As they came out of the press, the juices looked very pure and promising.
In other vineyards, grape quality was exceptional with good degree levels rarely seen in 17 years.
The wines produced should be rich and pure, with lovely balance.
…So no worries at all about the quality of the 2015 vintage!
