Vintage review
2017 / Fickle weather but gorgeous wines
The cold wintry weather transformed almost overnight into an unusually hot spell for the end of February. Temperatures suddenly plummeted again through the second half of April unfortunately, bringing two weeks’ worth of frost that particularly affected the vines on the right bank. May and June were glorious, creating the perfect backdrop for a uniform, swift flowering. Cool, damp weather followed, before a few welcome days of intense heat ripened the grapes to perfection. Harvesting began on 4 September amidst cool, grey conditions, and was then put on hold for two days because of rainfall at the end of the harvest. The grapes were bursting with health and crisp acidity: setting the stage for delightfully fruity wines with a refreshing, highly precise taste.
